Piled Festoon Hill is broken here and there with its rock strata exposed on its sides like piles of fancy festoons, covering an area of 2 square kilometers. It’s 223 meters high grotesque-looking rocks with striated layers resembling folded brocade hence you can hear one more name of this hill Folded Brocade Hill. There are several pavilions, caves, hills and peaks are scattered on the Piled Festoon Hill. Half way up the hill is the Wind Cave, a tunnel of constant cool winds, extending right through the mountain.
The hill was most popular among poets and painters of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Variety of stone-carved inscriptions confirms that visits. The hill has picturesque views of Li River.
