Victoria Peak in Hong Kong

HONG KONG. SIGHTS OF INTEREST. Victoria Peak

  • The peak tram runs daily from 07.00 am to midnight

It takes about 8 minutes to get to the very top of the Victoria Peak, 554 meters high, to the main sightseeing of the city. You’ll get a great panoramic view of the Hong Kong Island, the harbor and Kowloon Peninsula from here.

There are many restaurants, shops and boutiques in the Peak Gallery and the Peak Tower. You can visit a so called Wonder Hall, its name is ‘Believe it or not’. It’s the unique chain museum in the world, constructed by Robert L. Ripley in 1930. You’ll see exhibits portraying the adventurous events experienced by Ripley. There are primitive forest , beauty taking sun bath, frenzied car, turning tunnel, shark aquarium, ultimate cruel torture, marvelous spectacles of human race and animals, complete works of tongue twister and mass media fun station.

If you have enough time you can go around Harlech Road and Lugard Road on both sides of the peak. That is a vantage point to get a view of both sides of Victoria Harbor, Kowloon Peninsula and even the Pok Fu Lam Reservoir and the Island district at the southern part of Hong Kong.

It’s very beautiful especially in the evenings when all skyscrapers are lightened with thousands of lights.
