The Great Wall is a symbol of the ancient Chinese civilization. It reflects the patience and power of people of China. The Great Wall is the only creation of human being that is observed from the space. The building of the wall began in the 4th century BC and was mainly completed to the 3d century. It has never been a border. It was built as a defensive structure or bastion against barbarians wondering behind the wall. 6 350 kilometers long and from 3 to 8 meters high. It goes through 8 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. The width of the wall allows a relay of 5 horses or a column of 10 men in the row go on it. One who stands on the very top of the wall can enjoy the great panoramic view of the serpentine wall with watch towers and bastions fading in the horizon.  

The Great Wall is classified as a World Cultural Heritage. The best-preserved and even restored part of the wall is at Badaling place, 80 km to the north from Beijing. Besides, the magnitude and the beauty of the wall can also be seen at Jinshanling, Mutianyui, and Simatai.  

It was in the present times when a museum of the Great Wall and a modern cinema hall were built. You may find the Badaline Zoo with 4 mln square meters here at the wall foot. Apart from the wild animals living in their natural conditions you will find ancient monuments of culture, enjoy animals show and can have a rest in the botanical garden and spot and recreation area.
