Irkutsk-Baikal Tour
ITINERARY
Day 1. Arrive in Irkutsk, transfer to the hotel***/****. Accommodation
at the hotel. City tour, including a visit to the main sights of interest.
You'll see buildings created in beautiful Siberian baroque, Russian classical
style, in neoclassicism and constructivism, nice merchant houses and wooden
houses so typical for old Siberia. Visit to Znamensky nunnery famous for its
original iconostasis and the site of foundation of Irkutsk fort.
Day 2. Full day at the Baikal Lake, the deepest lake in the world. Visit to the Open-Air Museum of Wooden
Architecture on the way. It occupies the territory of 70 ha. A unique collection
of historical and cultural memorials of Eastern Siberia peoples. Lunch
at the restaurant on the shore of Baikal Lake. Tour to
Baikal Museum (so called Limnological Museum) offering a great
variety of species of fauna and flora of Lake Baikal and the lake history. Transfer
back to Irkutsk.
Day 3. Visit to one of Irkutsk museums (at your choice: local lore museum,
art gallery, museum of Spasskaya church, mineralogical or nature study museum,
etc). Departure transfer to airport or railway station. Departure.
Prime season - the whole year round.
Included: transfers, accommodation, breakfasts and 1 lunch, english/
german -speaking guide, entrance fees, transportation according the
program.
Optional: one-hour boat trip (2 pax - 40 USD per person; 3-8 pax - 30
USD per person) - summer time only :-).
