MUSEUMS. Mineralogy Museum of the Irkutsk Polytechnical University

The museum contains unique and varied collection of rocks and minerals of Eastern Siberia. The main part of the museum is occupied by the displays showing the variety and wealth of natural chemical compounds. Special theme expositions regularly organized at the museum give us idea of the achievements of modern mineralogy. The exhibitions themes are New Minerals, Synthetic Minerals, Physical Properties of Minerals (interesting: special stand gives a modern idea of the origin of mineral coloring variety), Pseudomorphs, Precious Stones (very interesting: this exhibition displays minerals used as gems in jewelers art).
