Shangri-La Express. Excursions.
You'll find the most popular questions here asked us before departure of
the Shangri-La Express about excursions in the cities of the Silk Road and in
the cities of China and Tibet. If you have more questions don't hesitate to ask us. We get questions
from our partners more often than from the clients that's why you'll see
"your clients" here but you can read it as "you" as well.
· Are there daily briefings on the places we pass through/ visit?
When your clients board the train they will find a brochure specific to their chosen route detailing more about their journey and the places en route. Their Tour Manager also
organizes a programme of briefings on the places included on the tour programme.
Every couple of days your clients will receive a sheet of updates timings, weather and places they are going to visit.
· Are all off train excursions included in the price?
Yes. If however, your client does not wish to take an off train excursion they can either stay on board the train or make some private arrangement. There is no discount for those who choose not to take the off train excursion/s.
· Who is the guide for off train tours?
We provide local English speaking guides
· Are clients with limited mobility able to go on all the excursions?
If your client needs a wheelchair this must be arranged at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate the request. However, it may not be possible to go on all of the excursions.
· What happens if the client chooses to make their own arrangements during the hours off train times?
Your client can make their own arrangements but they need to ensure that they are back at the train by the departure time as the train will not be able to wait and must leave as per the schedule.
· How many people travel to the same sights at the same time?
The buses carry up to 35 passengers and tours may be divided into groups to visit specific
sights/ museums etc.
· What is the evening entertainment programme?
There is a pianist on board in the bar car.
