Khuvsgul lake tour: Ulaanbaatar – Terelj National Park – 
Khuvsgul province (Khuvsgul lake) – Ulaanbaatar

 

Lake Khuvsgul lies within boundaries of the Khuvsgul National Park. This lake is sacred to all Mongols and is known as «Mother Sea» and also called “Blue Pearl of Asia”. Water of Khuvsgul Lake is unbelievably clean. This is a place in Mongolia where one can get sense of total unspoiled wilderness. You can hike, watch birds, fish, horse ride, kayak.

Duration: 8 days/7 nights.


Prime season: May,15 - October, 01.

ITINERARY

Day 1.  Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel. City tour: visit the Natural Museum and Bogdo Khaan winter palace. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. After breakfast visit Gandan monastery. Driving to Terelj resort / 70 km. Lunch. Visit Turtle Rock and nomadic family: get acquainted with nomadic life and test Mongolian milk products. Horse riding. Dinner, overnight at the tourist camp

Day 3. In the morning time in leisure. Departure back to Ulaanbaatar. Visit the Art museum. In the evening Mongolian folklore show and dance show. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4.  After breakfast transfer to the airport and flight to Murun /1.20 hrs. - Administrative center of Khuvsgul province. Lunch. Visit the local museum. Drive for approx. 135 km. to Khuvsgul lake. Dinner. Overnight stay in ger of tourist camp.

Day 5. Visit local family and horse riding. Lunch. Trekking in Munkhsardig mountain. Dinner. Overnight stay in ger of the tourist camp

Day 6. Hiking, swimming, riding the horse. Relaxing near the lake. Overnight at the Ger camp.

Day 7. After breakfast transfer back to Moron. Flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8. Departure 

Included: accommodation in hotel in UBT*** (twin), accommodation at the tourist camp (twin only), full board at the tourist camp (not in Ulaanbaatar), guide-interpreter, excursions as per itinerary, entrance fees to all museums and National parks acc the programme, all transfers, local taxes, horse riding fee, folklore show, domestic air ticket Ulaanbaatar - Murun - Ulaanbaatar.
